Rifle 2
This course is structured to build upon the foundational knowledge and skills acquired in Rifle 1 or equivalent experience. Participants will engage in a series of challenging exercises and drills aimed at refining marksmanship, promoting awareness, and developing decision in high-pressure situations.
Topics:
Bounding Techniques: Learn bounding maneuvers to effectively advance while maintaining cover and minimizing exposure.
Cover Drills: Utilizing cover to your advantage, including proper positioning, movement, and shooting techniques while minimizing your vulnerability to incoming fire.
Multiple Target Engagement: Practice engaging multiple targets swiftly and accurately, transitioning between threats.
Shooting on the Move: Exposure to engage targets accurately while on the move, incorporating proper footwork, body positioning, and trigger control techniques.
Rifle to Pistol Transitions: Learn seamless transitions between primary and secondary weapons systems, including efficient methods for drawing, holstering, and employing a handgun.
Prerequisites:
Participants should possess basic firearms handling skills and have completed a JDR Training Rifle 1 or equivalent. A beyond basic level of firearms safety is required, and any infraction of the four firearm safety rules is subject to being limiting to observation for the day.
Equipment Requirements:
Serviceable AR or AK style rifle with sling and at least three magazines.
Handgun with holster and at least two magazines (for transition drills).
Eye and electronic ear protection. ELECTRONIC IS REQUIRED!
Suitable attire for outdoor training (weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear).
600 rounds of rifle ammo, and 100 rounds of pistol ammo.
